[Flafurs] Moderation

You know, I love the way that pretty much everyone who's been
religiously for the over the top, first "offense" and you're moderated
moderation, has been spin doctoring this. Going out of their way to
portray everyone that thinks the rules are too harsh as "discourteous",
"lazy", and as if they were intentionally wanting to post emails that
didn't comply to the guidelines for properly formatting an email.
That was never what this was about. Most of us on this list know
how to write an email. But make the occasional slip up, like I did by
forgetting to click the "do not quote previous text" button when I sent
an email from my cellphone once, that got me moderated. The thing that
people are against in this, is the "first strike you're out" attitude
that's being taken. No one is trying to champion the cause of bad
grammar or poor email writing. And lord knows there are so many other,
and far better ways someone could hurt the others on the list.
No one's trying to on purpose trash everyone else's day, just by
accidentally forgetting to crop an email, or by top posting. It's a
simple mistake that even people who've been sending emails for years
make now and again. And that's usually all it is.
