Oh, its not only furs by any means. I've seen MUCH worse condescending replies on a forum I'm on. And I've had a few bosses (thankfully not where I work now) that were always like that.
I prefer to ask questions of someone that already knows what I want to find out than spend hours on the 'net trying to figure it out myself (obviously AC isn't that hard to find, but still, if you don't know what you're looking for it could take a while); and its REALLY aggravating when they're haughty about it.
